ANYWAY tuesday random weirdness

sorry i have not posted in so long. like, a REAL post. About Me, The author. i am homeschooled. i have chickens.
 And goats.
And sometimes bunnies and cats and fish and frogs and caterpillars and welllll, you probably get the idea. I live in Wisconsin and am mostly seen scootering around town doing jumps and things like that with headphones around my neck and camoflauge hunting pants looking like a crazy person. Yep, that's me. I had an infamous sledding accident on January 28th earlier this year. I left with a mild cuncussion and my nose broken in six places. I live on about a quarter of an acre, at the moment We have nine goats, listed from oldest to youngest- Bramble, Pepper, Ophelia, Albus, Rondo (above^ the adorable, but smelly little man!), Cassiopeia, Thistle, and Thorn. We have 14 hens, and NINE yes, NINE roosters. (I know, we're only keeping the three. One of which, a rescue, (named Eggsit 45) Pictured above.) I have played Violin, Piano, Guitar, Cello and a few self taught IN-STRO-MEN-TS. All of our critters and some of our cars have names, except the roos who are going to a different home. All of our chickens are mix breeds and are a whole bunch of different flocks sort of merged into one, but i'll list some breeds that are in there: Barred Rock (Eliza and Angelica), Wellsummer (45), Bantam Silkie (Peggy and Lady, But mostly Lady), Araucauna (Peggy and Lady), Americauna (Nina and Pinta,), Buff Frizzle Cochin Bantam (Nellie), and Black Cochin Bantam: Sweetie, Eo, Alfonso, Toto, Lovie, Wilhelmina, Winston, And pretty much everyone else. There is so much more- But, Humans must sleep, Thus, off to bed i go.

I've never written a post this long. Just so you know.

birthday.

It's odd, how we celebrate something that theoretically does not exist.

I am at a friend (CF.) 's house. We got here around 7:30 last night and danced and goofed around for about three hours before heading to bed and my brother I. and me slept in the attic. I got up at around 9:00 and we spent the day eating, ziplining, dancing, nerfing, messing with sculpey, and around afternoon M. asked me to come downstairs. They surprised me with cake and mom and grandma called to say happy birthday. We had tacos for lunch and are sleeping over again tonight and leaving some time tomorrow.

BTW I'm twelve today.

Thoughts

People say chickens are really dumb, but what if they're so smart they act dumb?
what if until you're three years old you can talk to ghosts? Does that explain why you don't remember much from when you were a toddler?
What if suddenly everyone were unicorns?

a banana that can balance on the edge of the table.
How banana. How.

kitten

here are some pics of our barncat, Lucas. he had been wandering around our place for awhile and made quick friends with our rescue rooster, Egg-sit 45, (named after the place he was found) and that, is how we got a cat. he caught and killed his first mouse yesterday, a baby. he started playing with the dead, beheaded body. and then he ripped it to shreds and ate it. Yum.

Tuesday Thoughts: starting school (in october)

there's a feeling you get when you have everything organized, like the feeling you get when you look out onto a clear lake.

I get that feeling when I start the first day of homeschool. new bindercover, new assignments, crisp new paper. I open my laptop and click;

Grade 6

for me; that is a feeling of true happiness.
starting afresh.

columbus day

'More recent views of Columbus have been critical of his colonization and treatment of natives.[106][107][108] Among reasons for this criticism is the treatment and disappearance of the native Taino people of Hispaniola, where Columbus began a rudimentary tribute system for gold and cotton.' Wikipedia says. that happened, and also, he didn't actually discover the Americas.

Pretty shocking, too, after we have been taught for years:
"In 1492, Columbus sailed the ocean blue." and he did, but he wasn't the first. let that sink in for a moment.
Leif Erikson was. Leif was the son of Erik the Red, the founder of the first Norse settlement in Greenland.
he was probably born in Iceland and grew up in Greenland. Leif had two sons that we know of, thorgis and Thorkell. "Leif and his crew travelled from Greenland to Norway in CE 999. Blown off course to the Hebrides and staying for much of the summer, he arrived in Norway and became a hirdman of King Olaf Tryggvason. He also converted to Christianity and was given the mission of introducing the religion to Greenland.[15][19] The Saga of Erik the Red and the Saga of the Greenlanders, both thought to have been written around 1200,[20] contain different accounts of the voyages to Vinland.[21][22] The two only known strictly historical mentions of Vinland are found in the work of Adam of Bremen c. 1075 and in the Book of Icelanders compiled c. 1122 by Ari the Wise.[23] According to the Saga of Erik the Red, Leif apparently saw Vinland for the first time after being blown off course on his way to introduce Christianity to Greenland.[19]"
